Our wood source is part of the Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers who have received notification from the U.S. Forest Service that the 344 county region is a sustainable hardwood forest.

As defined by the Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE) and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), sustainable forest management (SFM) is defined as:

There are more than 65.4 million acres of timberland in the Appalachian Hardwood Forest, an increase in the past 15 years. The Appalachian Hardwood Forest boundary spans 12 states in the Eastern United States, with averages of 2.3 trees growing for every tree that is harvested.
