Café Style Shutters - Raleigh

Often referred to as “half shutters” or “shutterettes”, cafe style shutters usually only cover the lower half of a double hung window. Café shutters are also very similar to normal shutters which feature a divider rail, only without the upper portion. Due to the intricate nature of café shutters, this design typically features a smaller louver (2 ½ or 3 ½). Although most café shutters only cover the lower half of a double hung window, technically café shutters may cover any portion of a window, provided it does not cover the entirety.

Great for privacy, café shutters allow the bottom of the window to be covered and closed via the shutter, while the open top still allows for visibility and light admittance. Café shutters are also typically less expensive, as they require fewer materials for construction.
